The first Big Bench in Caneva in Friuli!

They are called Big Bench and are giant panoramic benches: They exceed tree meters in length and almost two in height. On one condition that they are placed in a panoramic point and on land accessible to the public.

The BIG Bench Community Project (BBCP), an exclusive non-profit initiative, was created to support local communities, tourism and the artisan excellence of the countries in which they are installed.

In Italy there are 191 giant benches and Caneva’s is number 190. The first Big Bench was installed in Piedmont and subsequently in various places in Italy.

The Big Bench of Caneva is definitely well positioned and shows whoever wants to sit (climb) the carnic and Julian Alps, Pordenone and Treviso countryside, the Venetian lagoon and Belluno mountains. You can enjoy the light of dawn , the infinite colors of the sunset, the sounds and scents of nature.

How to reach it:

by car along the Patriarch’s road. They are about 7 km from the town of Villa di Villa (Cordignano) going up towards the Parco dei Carbonai;

on foot going up from the path of Madonna dei Scalin (Stevenà) in about an hour and a half.
